GR Freight offer custom clearance services from any of the UK ports covering all types of entries including temporary imports, IPR/OPR (Inward / Outward Processing Relief), private importations, historic artifacts, vehicle clearance and food stuffs.

For all imports in to the UK the consignee is required to submit an EORI (Economic Operator Registration Identification) number in order to clear through customs.  We can supply the application form and assist with completing this form.  Most businesses will have this applied to their VAT number but if you are not VAT registered then they will simply issue you a fresh number to use.  Once you are EORI registered you are then free to use the same number for all future imports.

In general for us to arrange customs clearance on your shipment we would require your EORI number as mentioned above, the commercial invoice and packing list from the supplier and a copy of the bill of lading.  We will then enter to HMRC, obtain the duty / VAT figures and then send you an invoice for all charges due.

Once paid we’ll clear it with customs and then the shipment will be cleared for free circulation with the UK and the EU. Please contact us for a price for customs clearance of your FCL or LCL shipments. However, complex the customs clearance issue, GR Freight will deal with customs directly and professionally ensuring a smooth customs clearance process.
